Conditioned Media
Conditioned media (also known as Conditioned Medium, Culture Medium, or Cell-Conditioned Media) is the liquid environment that contains the secretome. During cell culture, fibroblasts or other regenerative cells are grown in a nutrient medium. As they metabolize, they secrete a rich array of bioactive molecules, their secretome, into this medium. Once the cells are removed, the remaining fluid is purified and used for its regenerative benefits.
In advanced skincare and biomedical research, fibroblast-conditioned media serves as a concentrated source of natural growth factors, cytokines, and peptides that reflect the cell’s regenerative signature. Unlike synthetic actives, conditioned media captures the full spectrum of cell-to-cell communication in a stable, usable form, making it one of the most scientifically grounded ingredients in regenerative aesthetics.
