Growth Factors

Growth factors are naturally occurring proteins that regulate cell growth, differentiation, and survival. They act as messengers that tell cells when to divide, repair, or produce new structural components like collagen and elastin. They are one of the key components of the secretome and are abundantly found in fibroblast-conditioned media.

Fibroblasts secrete numerous growth factors, including FGF, EGF, and TGF-β, which are essential for maintaining youthful skin function. In regenerative aesthetics, growth factor–rich conditioned media helps boost dermal renewal, strengthen the skin barrier, and restore balance to aging or stressed skin. Unlike topical actives that act on the surface, growth factors communicate directly with cells, making them a cornerstone of next-generation regenerative formulations.

Although sometimes used as standalone actives in skincare, growth factors are most effective when working synergistically with other secretome elements such as cytokines and peptides, reflecting the body’s natural balance of regenerative signals.

In professional skincare, growth factors are often delivered through advanced formulations derived from conditioned media. Our growth-factor rich professional treatment is one example, providing a concentrated profile of naturally secreted growth factors, cytokines and other bioactive molecules used to support skin regeneration.
